   Stop the bleeding

   Bandage at once. Rags work too: cut clothes into rags with a knife.

   Keep it clean

   Disinfect bandages and rags first, or the wound gets infected.

   Broken leg

   A splint ($120) fixes it. Until then move slowly.

   Dirty water

   Boil it or use purification tablets. Dirty water brings cholera.

   Bad food

   Raw or rotten food makes you sick. Charcoal tablets help.

   Infections and colds

   Tetracycline treats them. Stay warm and dry.

   Recover

   Eat and drink well: blood and health come back over time.
